Travel Day = Food Pics
|09-MAY-2015| We left Seattle at 12:30pm Friday with a brief layover in SFO to board an Aer Lingus A330 bound for Dublin. We arrived 5200 miles later at 11am on Saturday and thought the “challenging” part of the travel was over; oh, were we wrong! I’m not sure if Portugal took Ireland’s lead when it comes to the lack of street signs, or if Ireland took it from Portugal, but either way, it’s epically bad. Finding our B&B through a series of one-way streets took 3 tries and we had to abandon the written directions for lack of corresponding reference points. I’m sure the directions are fine, they’re just useless without visible STREET SIGNS (I’m lookin’ at you, Dublin). We navigate much more effectively on foot and were happy to park the car at the Kilronan House B&B and take off to check out the city. It’s a travel day, you get food pics. 🙂 |
We stopped into a tradtional-looking pub for an afternoon beer. When in Ireland ….Check out the artsy foam on the Guinness. And the IPA – that’s “Irish Pale Ale”, thank you.

Later for dinner we enjoyed a cheese plate and wine by the glass at the Wine Cellar, in the basement of Fallon & Byrne. The main floor is an organic grocery – think very small Whole Foods. |
