Hola Mendoza!

| 25-Apr-2017 | After a brief delay at Aeroparque Jorge Newbery this morning, we boarded our Aerolineas Argentinas flight bound for Mendoza! We have a packed two days planned for this segment of the trip; fortunately neither involve excessive walking.

Both might involve wine … stay tuned.

As we say goodbye to a lovely visit in Buenos Aires, I’d like recap a few important things for you traveller types:

– The people are very, very nice
– Being a pedestrian requires your full time attention; the drivers are CRAZY. We saw countless “near misses” of car-car or car-pedestrian carnage
– The sidewalks suck. Exhibit “S” – Sidewalks. If they aren’t torn up or covered in dog poop, they are surfaced in what is the concrete equivalent of a waffle iron.

Lunch at Le Merval, on the main restaurant drag, Av. Aristides Villanueva, in Mendoza. They have a nice lunch set and at 2pm we had the place to ourselves. The tree-lined streets, wide sidewalks and slower pace of Mendoza is refreshing.

Don’t cry for me Argentina – that 2nd floor balcony, that’s ours.

The view, with the wine, that’s ours too.

AND we can see the Southern Cross from the rooftop deck.
