Ciao, Roma!
| 14 & 15-Mar-2024 | Back in Rome, almost exactly a year to the day from my solo work trip in 2023. This year, with Jeff and Pleepleus in tow, we’re set to walk all the steps and eat all the things.
Upon arrival Thursday afternoon, I knew Buccone Vini would be our first “official” stop. After refreshing glasses of Italian wines, a white and a rosé, we set off for dinner.
Pane e Salume was recommended by a foodie friend so I was confident it would check all the right boxes after a long travel “day”. It did not disappoint. Multiple types of cheese, charcuterie, grilled veggies, honey, and red onion jam – this board was *chef’s kiss*.
Friday started kind of early with coffee and pastery at the Spanish Steps. From there we weaved our way through a walking tour of sites from the Pantheon to Teatro di Marcellus to the Colosseum. Total mileage count: 14.5. Whew!
Lunched at a tiny burger joint: DONTS. Excellent smashburgers.
Met up with friends this afternoon. I did a work “gig” in 2023 and talked with these two nearly everyday. It was wonderful to see them again!
Wrapped up the day with Sicilian-style pizza.
