Bāaibaai Hong Kong
|12-MAR-2016| We head for home today. I can’t believe how fast this week has gone but we packed in a ton of sites and activities. We covered a lot of ground thanks to an excellent and cheap subway system, and good directions for the more out-of-the-way spots. If you’re looking for something specific in Hong Kong, do not head out without the complete name and address – it’s essential to finding things as retail and restaurants are not all on the ground floor. The streets and building are well marked though, which helps.
Hong Kong is definitely a collision of east and west. Most signs are in both Cantonese and English, and most residents speak at least some English. It seems both familiar and foreign. In Central there are definitely more Westerners; here in Causeway and east we have seen few travelers or expats. A couple of resources I found useful for navigating Hong Kong:
For later reference, we stayed here: Lockhart House |
Finally, I leave you with a collection urban art as seen around Hong Kong Island this past week. |
