| 26-Aug-2009 | As we walked to Plaça Catalunya this morning to catch the bus to the airport, I bid good-bye to a very unique city. I’ve been to Barcelona twice now, the first time nine years ago, and it has always stuck with me – something about the passion for life here is captivating. People-watching these past few days has been a good reminder that friends, family, good food and good times are really what it’s all about.
After a short, uneventful flight to Amsterdam, and a quick train ride to Central Station, we’re in the heart of a completely different city. Our room at the B&B has three huge windows overlooking Amstel Canal. Beautiful! The bench in the window provides a perfect perch for canal-watching. 🙂 Today we aimlessly wandered but here’s a taste of the city for you. We found a nice bottle of wine and a pizza for dinner. Finished up the wine while sitting in the window, watching the world go by. This is so right. There are gourmet chocolates in the fridge, waiting patiently for espresso, that will be consumed after a walk tonight.
I have no idea what we’re going to do tomorrow. Maybe watch the world go by. Ahhh, vacation.
