Most years, this stunt would be impossible due to weather – rain and wind are not conducive to outdoor music performances …. from a boat. A hundred or so curious music fans showed up to the pier behind Harpa to watch as an ensemble group performed with Kira Kira from a sailing yacht navigating from the bay into the harbor. THIS is Airwaves of old.

The rest of our crew arrived today and we shared dinner at Shalimar, a Pakistani restaurant that consistently appears here on the blog.

Jeff and I posted up at the Reykjavik Art Museum for the on-venue program tonight. Yard Act, a British indie rock band, served up some catchy tunes that reminded me a bit of Franz Ferdinand. Good stuff.
The final band of the night was Hatari, “version 3”. Following a recent change in co-lead singers, the set lacked the charisma and intensity of previous shows. Not disappointed that we stayed for the setup; it will be interesting to see what’s next for this project.
