Art is good.
| 20.Apr.2023| Pleased to find that the awesome pizza joint we discovered on our trip in in 2018 is still around and doing a brisk trade in wood-fired pies. We had to wait for a table when we arrived 15 minutes after opening. True, there are only 4 tables.
Before lunch we visited a very old Shinto shrine: Osaka-Temmangu. After lunch we split up to do some shopping. I browsed the offerings around Umeda and returned to fabric shop for two more cuts of Japanese double-gauze. Jeff headed to the record shops in Shinsaibashi.
Dinner was our usual eat-in affair of cheese, salami, bread, and wine. Finding these provisions was more difficult than expected – I don’t recall this from prior trips so perhaps we didn’t attempt it.
Event of the day was an art installation of sound and light in the Nagai Botanical Garden. I was surprised, and impressed, with the number of visitors at tonight’s session which kicked off at 7pm. In several ares of the exhibit visitors can interact with objects in the scenery and affect the colors/sounds. Pretty cool!
